Way to go Microsoft!
36 months of feedback later, and I'm please to announce that CRM 2011 has some spectacular enhancements.
Dynamics CRM 2011 brings a tremendous number of improvements over CRM 4.0. Here are 10 of the top features that I think will have the biggest impact.
- Multiple forms for each entity. Do you have a Sales Manager who wants a different view of the Account form than the Service Manager, the Finance Manager, the CEO ? No problem in CRM 2011
- Dialogs - Easy to design processes that walk a user step by step through a series of prompt and response questions. Perfect for streamlining business processes and making data entry easy with less user training required
- Charts - Instantly see trends and patterns from CRM views
- Dashboards - All your critical CRM metrics to easily see what's going on in the organization. Add web parts from SharePoint, your ERP system, or corporate website
- Outlook UI Enhancements. Imagine all the greatness of the Office ribbon in Outlook, but with CRM embedded. Do you like the conditional formating of Excel? (eg. show me opportunities over $10K in darker, larger font, late opportunities in bold red) Now you have this same capability in the Outlook CRM client so you can visualize data in any list view
- Templates for Quick Campaigns, and Emailing Sales literature. Yes, technically two things, but one big improvement to Marketing
- Sales Goals. Understanding how Goal Metrics, Rollup Queries and Goals come together is tricky at first, so just think of it as 'KPIs for Dynamics CRM'
- Managed Solutions. A great step to making the management of customizations and add-ons easier
- Imports. A treasure trove of amazing enhancements. (Instant Excel templates, multiple excel files in one import)
- Connections. This completely replaces Relationship roles.
- Creating Custom Activities. This will move to the top 10 once we are able to sync custom activities with Outlook
